InfoPath 2007: Web Services instead of SharePoint list Data Connection

If you have having issues with the performance of an InfoPath form when retrieving and processing a large amount of data from SharePoint, consider using a Web Service data connection instead of the standard SharePoint list data connection.  Using web Services can allow you to supply the criteria required to retrieve only the items that are required from SharePoint.  The GetListItems method of the Lists web service on a SharePoint site can be used with a CAML query to retrieve data from SharePoint.

See InfoPath Data Connection Performance for more information.
